Sabrina Hahn

Sabrina Hahn is a master gardener, horticultural professional, award winning radio presenter and writer. She has passion for the creation of sustainable landscapes that make cities more liveable. Sabrina has shared her knowledge and passion for green spaces on ABC radio for 30 years, being one of the earliest pioneers to promote sustainable gardening practices in the media. She is a highly entertaining public speaker, and MC, she writes a twice-weekly gardening column in The West Australian, and also contributes articles for Gardening Australia and Organic Gardener.

Josh Byrne

Josh Byrne is an environmental scientist, researcher, author, TV presenter and avid gardener. Well known for his role as the WA presenter on ABC TV’s Gardening Australia program, he is the Director of Fremantle-based landscape architecture and urban design practice Josh Byrne & Associates, and Dean of Sustainable Futures  in the Faculty of Humanities at Curtin University. His research expertise spans water-sensitive design, energy-efficient housing and sustainable urban development.

Deryn Thorpe

Deryn Thorpe – a fanatical gardener, who is passionate about communicating her love of gardening – is an award-winning print and radio garden journalist and also works as a tour guide and Perth garden consultant, visiting home gardens to provide advice on design and planting. Deryn will be conducting interviews at the Show and each day will include a special segment “Conversations with Deryn” which will focus on one special guest each day.

Chris Ferreira

Chris Ferreira’s company, The Forever Project, runs one of Australia’s most innovative sustainability and behaviour-change programs and has taught over 140,000 people how to develop resilient land and lives. An adjunct lecturer in sustainability at Murdoch University, Chris is well known for his Hamilton Hill Sustainable Home project. He makes regular appearances on television and radio, and contributions to sustainable land management publications.

Sue McDougall

Sue is well-known across Perth for sharing her gardening expertise in print, radio and TV, and with more than 35 years of horticultural experience, she was the ideal choice as Director of the Western Australian Botanic Garden.

Colin Barlow

Colin Barlow is a passionate qualified horticulturalist, landscape designer and garden writer who has worked in the industry for nearly thirty years. Colin has designed and constructed many major displays for the garden shows in Perth including the 2007 Water Corporation display garden for the Gardening Australia Expo and numerous Garden Weeks.

Mel Logozzo

Mel is the the person behind Rewilding Suburbia, a space dedicated to transforming everyday gardens into thriving, biodiverse ecosystems. Mel a home habitat gardener, food grower, educator, and proud invertebrate nerd! For the past few years, Mel has been on a mission to prove that you don’t need acres of land or experience to grow food, support wildlife, or create a garden that works with nature instead of against it. Her own backyard has been my testing ground, and she love sharing what I’ve learned—both the wins and the moments that didn’t quite go to plan! Mel’s Instagram channel has almost 150K dedicated followers.

Behrooz Eslam

Behrooz works as a relief teacher in primary schools in low socio-economic areas. He is starting a business to teach life skills through a gardening program in primary schools, particularly in lower primary. He is passionate about emotionally healing, and teaching good habits and passionate about conserving nature and wants to pass on this knowledge to young children.

Casey Lister

Casey is a Perth-based writer, cookbook author and gardener. She firmly believe that the best kind of gardening is simple, down to earth, and – most importantly – fun. Over the last ten years Casey has been teaching Australian gardeners how to design, plant and care for beautiful, wild, organic and edible gardens. Casey is a writer for the Sunday Times,. And loves sharing her knowledge, passion and tips to West Australians.

Kit Prendergast

The Bee Babette

Dr Kit Prendergast is a wild bee ecologist and gained her PhD after researching the biodiversity of native bees and pollination networks in urban areas, along with how to conserve them and the impact of honeybees on native bees. She has also researched and written about urban area issues for bees, focusing on Perth and the south west of WA. She is also the author of Creating a Haven for Native Bees and Abuzz About Dawson’s Burrowing Bee.
