Special Guests

Hannah Moloney

Hannah Moloney is best known for her work in permaculture and as a presenter on ABC’s Gardening Australia, quickly followed by her commitment to climate activism – oh and her pink hair which matches her hot pink house nestled amongst her urban farm in Nipaluna, Hobart. Having grown up on a herb nursery in inner city Meanjin/Brisbane she’s acutely aware of what sustainability approaches are possible in urban spaces (an enormous amount). She’s worked and lived on urban agriculture and small farms her whole life and these days continues doing just that in her home where she keeps goats, chickens, ducks and bees amongst large edibles gardens. As an activist, Hannah is fuelled by radical hope and the deeper knowing that ordinary humans are capable of doing extraordinary things, especially when they collectivise for the greater good. Some of the things that bring her most joy include bush and garden time, playing with her daughter, dreaming and doing with her partner, yarning with mates and hugging her goats! If you’ve never been in an audience of Hannah’s before, you’re for a treat at this year’s Perth Garden Show!
